This NOFO aims to support new biomedical, behavioral, and social science investigators who are in the early stages of establishing independent careers in tobacco regulatory research. Applications due July 14, 2026. More information and the Forecast.
Note: Serving as a PI on a funded research project, such as an R03, makes an individual ineligible for a K99/R00 award through the parent K99/R00 NOFO. This restriction is specific to the K99 mechanism and does not affect eligibility for a K01 or K08 award. ICs have their own specific NOFOs other than the parent K99/R00 NOFOs meaning that eligibility requirements can vary by IC, and in many cases, this may render an applicant ineligible for the K99.
